Expedia has started a new advertising campaign in Europe which is the start of it rolling out its Expedia Everywhere strategy. The idea behind it is that it gives more personalised travel services and expands the brand so that it is just not associated with being a place where things can be booked, which is how many people tend to view it at the moment.
The advertising campaign stretches across many media forms that includes television, print, on line, radio and social networking sites and will be all across Europe, starting on 20th June in the UK. It will then go to The Netherlands, Italy, Germany Norway, Denmark and Sweden. They are looking to spread the message that they are an experienced team and working hard to ensure that their customers have the best possible holiday. They are not so much focussing on the holidays themselves but the service that Expedia can provide and how they are committed to providing the best possible resources to their customers. Senior marketing director, Andrew Warner explained that many advertising campaigns are very much the same as they always have been, but this one has been designed to fit with people needs. After finding out what travellers wanted, they made sure that they targeted this in the advertising, rather than just focussing on palm trees and prices. They realise that people want to know more than this and that the whole experience is important, so value for money rather than just a cheap place in the sun.
